<body> Psychomantium of the mind; To see, to write.
Beyond the mirror, beyond Oceanus

lies the ever elusive yet inevitable realm of Elysium. Attainable before the passing, yet only via the reflections of our inner thoughts. For only within can we find true redemption or true death. In the twilight hours before our time, we would thus pen and construct, a psychomantium of regret and forlorn hope, the leavings of many a consciousness.

    The movie 'Artificial Intelligence' rocks!
I watched it last night;my first time even though the movie has been out for years.
Watching AI made me think abt I,Robot but I prefer AI,because there, the characters are more humanised, especially for David. He's the robot boy, different from the rest as he was created to feel and think like a human,a child, and he can love. The story is touching but without being corny,at least to me lah=)

I really couldnt stand the way the humans treated the mecha. They had this makeshift stadium and spectators would take part in seeing them being destroyed in different ways: acid, firing them from cannons and so on,all at the 'vote' of the people. Not that I really sympathise with all of the mecha there but some really behaved like humans;a nanny robot consoled and encouraged David, holding his hand...while the others were rattling away, saying that they were still of use and so on.

If one day(which I think will not be too far away),people are to come up with robots with logic,an average intelligence, able to feel,a preset personality and a body like that of a human's(ok the body doesnt really matter),arent they so like humans, though yes, they are not real humans? If I ever get to meet and interact with one in my lifetime,I wouldnt bear to destroy them, because they are so real to me that I may begin to think their thinking and feelings are independent, not because of any preset conditions...And about clones,if I ever got a choice whether or not I want to clone myself,I will say No.If my clone looks exactly like me,and has the same(if more or less) views about issues and things and, psychologically and emotionally reacts in more or less the same way as I would have, isnt her worth and value as a human being equal to mine?

Some years ago,I had this crazy thought that if I could,I would get a clone of myself and I would order her around to do whatever things I want her to.As though we are 2 diff people.Even following me around everyday,as I give her orders, like a 2nd class human being. That was what I thought. But now, thinking about it,wouldnt my treatment of her say that she isnt a real human and thus strictly speaking, not a human?Or at most,a 2nd class human?

Just because she isnt the original copy of me,her value as a single and unique entity isnt equal to mine?Or she cant even be counted as a unique entity?
And what gives me power over her, that I can order her around and choose for her what she will do in her life?

Ya...these are all my thoughts regarding my clone if I were to have one now.But no thanks!
    No clone of Jia Xin!

    Last of all,AI rocks=D
    Oh ya,I'm rational.
